Frequently asked questions about therapy in Valencia and online

Everything you need to know before starting: first session, sessions, prices, online therapy and confidentiality.

Starting therapy

This is my first time in therapy, where do I start?
You can book a first session to explain what concerns you. In that first meeting the professional assesses your situation and you decide together on the most suitable type of support. You do not need to prepare anything or have a prior diagnosis.
Do I need to know which professional to choose?
No. You only need to briefly explain the area that concerns you and reception will guide you according to the specialty, format and availability. You do not have to choose the professional on your own.
What is the difference between psychology, sexology and couples therapy?
Clinical psychology addresses anxiety, mood, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing. Clinical sexology deals with desire, intimacy and sexual difficulties. Couples therapy works on communication, conflict and the bond between partners. If you are unsure which fits your case, reception can guide you.
How long does a session last?
Each session is a professional space dedicated to your case. The exact length and frequency are agreed with the professional according to your needs and the type of therapy.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on each person and their goals. In the first sessions the professional assesses your situation and gives you guidance about the process. We do not work with fixed packages: the pace adapts to you.
Do you see teenagers and children?
Yes. We offer child psychology, care for teenagers and family guidance, in addition to care for adults, which is our main focus.

Prices and payment

How much does a session cost?
Psychology, sexology and couples therapy sessions start from €75 per session with the clinic team. Sessions with Sergio Pérez, the clinic director, are €90. You can see the details on the fees page.
Does couples therapy cost more?
No. The price is per session, not per person. A couples session costs the same as an individual one.
Does online therapy cost the same as in person?
Yes. We do not apply an online surcharge. The price is the same as an in-person session.
How can I pay for the session?
You can pay in person at the clinic or through the secure online payment gateway when booking, where the service requires it. Reception will let you know the options available in your case.

Appointments and bookings

How do I book an appointment?
You can book through the online booking form, by WhatsApp, by phone or by email. You choose the service, format and time, and receive confirmation by email.
Is the appointment confirmed automatically?
It depends on the service settings and payment. If online payment is required, confirmation may depend on the order being completed correctly. In all cases you receive an email with the information.
Can I cancel or change an appointment?
Yes, as long as the cancellation is within the conditions set by the clinic and the booking system allows it. We recommend requesting any change as far in advance as possible, giving your name, email and appointment date.
If I cancel, will I get a refund?
The refund depends on the cancellation notice, the order status and the applicable refund policy. Cancelling an appointment does not necessarily mean an automatic refund.
Can I book an appointment for someone else?
You can request general information. Confirmation, authorisation and participation will depend on the age, situation and requirements applicable in each case.

Online therapy

Can I have online therapy?
Yes. We have been pioneers in online therapy in Spain since 2003 and see patients in more than 20 countries, in Spanish, Catalan, English and French. If the service is available online, you will receive instructions by email.
What do I need for an online session?
You need a private, quiet space, a good internet connection, a camera, a microphone and a few minutes to spare before starting.
Is online therapy as effective as in person?
Online therapy allows you to maintain continuity of the process with the same professional, confidential care. It is especially useful if you live outside Valencia, travel, or have difficulty getting around. The professional will assess with you whether it is the right format for your case.

Privacy and other questions

Is everything confidential?
Yes. All sessions are protected by professional confidentiality and privacy. The information you share with your professional is confidential.
What information should I give when booking?
You only need to give the general reason, age, preferred format, language and a contact phone number. You do not need to share sensitive clinical information with reception; personal details are discussed directly with the professional in the session.
Where is the clinic?
The clinic is at Calle Maestro Valls, 28 - 2, 46022 Valencia. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 21:00. You can see how to find us.
Does the clinic handle emergencies?
It is not an emergency service. In the event of immediate danger, risk of self-harm, loss of consciousness, severe breathing difficulty or any other emergency, call 112 in Spain and the European Union, or the emergency number wherever you are.
